A little about me as it relates to photography.

I have had the fortune to live through an exciting and unique time in the history of photography. I first took it up in the late 90’s shooting, developing, and printing black and white film for my high school photography class. By the time I arrived at college in the early 2000’s photography was in its infant stages of it’s digital revolution, going from a film medium to a digital medium. By attending college at The Rochester Institute of Technology I had access to some of the earliest digital cameras and was able to embrace the new digital direction of the art form. Living through the transition from analog film to using digital capture and computer manipulation set me up with a foundational skillset that is open to the always changing world of photo technology.

Upon moving to NYC in the mid 2000’s I began assisting in the the commercial photography world. Within a few years I had opened my own photo studio and entered the commercial photo industry as a still life photographer. For the last 15 years to the present I have been shooting beauty and conceptual still life images for magazines and advertising. I have led teams as large as 15+ through the full process of content creation, from concept and pre-production to execution and final media delivery.

Seeking a creative change in the mid 2010’s I left the studio setting and began to create environmental portraiture and reportage images. Currently the focus of my vision has been on creating images that show a perspective of humans as anonymous and miniscule within the scale of a larger environment.

Photography is an ever extending path of expression that I continue to follow through all its stylistic and technological evolutions. I am excited to continue the journey.
